Location: New York (Hybrid)

Department Overview:

Global secondaries acquire limited partnership interest in established, high quality, mature leveraged buyout, growth capital and certain established venture capital funds and managers. The team’s differentiated approach focuses on smaller and more complex secondary transactions on a global basis, including fund restructuring, tail-end wind-down transactions, and preferred interest structures. The deal sourcing and due diligence advantages that come with an established PE platform make the secondaries team a valuable partner.

 

Role Purpose:

The Private Equity Analyst will support CD Secondaries platform in focusing on quantitative and qualitative due diligence support for secondary investments.

The successful candidate will support work streams on transactions during the due diligence phase of a deal, while also supporting on-going valuations, modelling, reporting to investors, capital raising and on-going portfolio management.

 

Key tasks and responsibilities:

• Conduct quantitative modelling and qualitative due diligence on prospective investments and managers, and various ad hoc analyses and track record analyses.

• Conduct the quantitative and qualitative analysis of the opportunities, support the drafting of investment memoranda, and support the execution.

• Write investment recommendations for presentation to investment committees.

• Various tasks related to investment monitoring and reporting.

• Support for various marketing and fundraising efforts.

• Support the origination of investment opportunities, develop your network.

 

Key competencies:

• Highly analytical and quantitative competencies are required, while financial analysis, modelling, valuation, reporting experience is a plus.

• An understanding of the legal framework and documentation typical for secondaries transactions (GP Led, LP secondary, and direct secondary).

• Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to produce high-quality work.

• Demonstrating propensity for a sound investment judgment with a keen awareness of risk, return and exposure management.

• Project management and presentation skills combined with multi-tasking abilities.

• Self-starter with ability to complete tasks quickly and efficiently, having regard to changing priorities, differing time.

 

Skills and Qualifications:

• Minimum bachelor degree from a top-tier university / college – preferred subjects including Economics, Corporate Finance, Mathematics, etc.

• 1 to 2 years of private equity, asset management, or investment banking experience, preferably with exposure / understanding of secondary transactions (GP Led, LP secondary, and direct secondary).

• Ideally CFA qualified, but not essential.

• Good understanding of accounting, finance, company valuation etc.

• Excellent practical working knowledge of financial modelling.

• Sound investment judgment with a keen awareness of risk, return and exposure management.

• Exceptional proficiency MS Word, MS Power Point and MS Excel.

 

Language skills:

• Must be fluent in English and display superior verbal and written communication skills.

• Additional language skills – Italian, Spanish, Japanese, South Korean etc. is desirable.

 

Remuneration:

• This role will offer a base salary of USD 100,000 to 130,000 per annum, plus a discretionary bonus.

• Base salary offered will depend on the level of experience the candidate is able to bring to the role.

Further notice:

• This is an office-based role, working out of our New York location a minimum of 3 days per week.

• Candidate must be able to travel to our New York office for in-person interviews.

• Please note, we are not able to offer a relocation support or travel allowance to attend interviews in person.
