Department Overview:
Capital Dynamics’ Business Development team is responsible for the fundraising of every alternative investment product on the global CD platform, across various markets local to our Firm. We work closely with consultants that serve our Institutional LPs and Private Wealth investors. Whether our clients are global multinationals or regional investors, we’re committed to creating tailored investment solutions (alongside Investment Management and Product Development & Strategy) based on their goals. We listen, understand their requirements and then work shoulder-to-shoulder with them to design a solution.
Role Purpose:
Capital Dynamics ("CD") is seeking to hire a Sales Operations & Forecasting Lead to join our Business Development Sales team, based the London office. This role is pivotal in overseeing key operational and reporting functions throughout CD’s fundraising processes, including both routine tasks and project-specific activities.
The individual in this role, is part of a global Business Development team across more than 14 different countries.
Key to this role is maintaining strong working relationships with all Sales teams members and regularly liaising with Legal, Compliance, Finance, Investment Management and other Business Development departments.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong entrepreneurial mindset, exceptional organizational and communication skills, ability to meet critical deadlines and previous sales operations/forecasting experience in a high-performance firm with a small to medium sized direct global sales team.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Coordinate the firm’s sales forecasting process and reporting activities, interfacing directly with all global Sales teams and other colleagues in relation to projecting sales/ private fund closes and the associated revenue.
• Manage ‘’other’’ key sales activities including ad-hoc activity reporting, sales process training, sales kick-offs and sales review events.
• Assist and / or own project management aspects of strategic global sales initiatives including expansion into different markets and investor segments, etc.
• Support the Head of Sales and CEO with annual objective setting for Sales Professional and Compensation administration working alongside HR and Finance teams.
• Utilize data-driven insights to assist the Head of Sales and CEO to evaluate the performance of the sales channel / sales individuals and identify areas for additional opportunity and improvement.
• Develop and maintain analytics, dashboards, and reporting systems to improve sales process monitoring and reporting.
• Act as the CRM champion within CD, ensuring correct use and timely / accurate updates to support reporting processes. Responsible for documenting in CRM to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements on annual basis.
• Oversee critical aspects of private fund ‘’closing process’’ to ensure all information documented in CRM is accurate.
• Assist with ongoing review of sales ‘’targets’’ to actual performance.
• Create and own process of placement agent / referral partner oversight and compensation process, accounting for retainer fees, placement agent fees and revenue shares arrangements, etc.
• Assist with providing information for annual review of all Sales team members.
Attributes:
• Minimum of 4 to 6 years of experience in a sales operations or sales related role where a disciplined sales forecasting and reporting system was operational.
• Excellent analytical, modelling and communication and skills
• Willingness to work collaboratively and in-time with teams located globally.
• Highly organized and priority-driven with a demonstrated ability to meet multiple deadlines and manage time effectively and efficiently.
Education and Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a financially related field preferred.
• Preference for an advanced degree such as an MBA; or a professional certification such as the CFA or CAIA, but not essential.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills: Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel.
Languages:
• Must be fluent in English and display superior writing skills.
• Additional language skills, preferably German, Italian, French and Spanish are highly desirable.
