Why we collect data

We may collect your personal data in order to provide products and services to you, depending on the product and service provided.

What data we may collect and generate

Your contact details, such as your name, address, telephone number and email address;
Your date of birth, nationality, country of birth, country of residence, employment status and tax identification number;
Passport details, driving license and utility bills;
Details of the services you request or receive from us;
Any records held by financial crime prevention agencies, on electoral registers and rolls, and by providers of utility services;
Details of your employment status, income, assets and source of wealth;
Information about your investments and your transactions with us;

To review and assess client/prospective client applications or contracts for Capitals Dynamics’ services and products;
To undertake checks with fraud prevention agencies to enable us to comply with our anti-money laundering obligations and for the purposes of crime prevention and fraud prevention;
To comply with our obligations arising from any contracts entered into between you and us and to provide you with the information, products and services that you request from us, or enable relevant service providers to assist us in doing so;

Businesses that are part of the same group of companies within Capital Dynamics, or that become part of that group;

Any relevant regulatory authority where they are entitled to request or require disclosure;

Transferring data worldwide

Capital Dynamics is a global asset manager with clients around the world and with global business operations. Personal data is collected on a global basis. We may store your personal data in any location globally and we may share your personal data with our service providers and this may involve transferring it to countries inside and outside the European Economic Area (EEA).

Where we do so, we will ensure that it is protected and transferred in a manner consistent with legal requirements. We will take appropriate measures to ensure that the level of protection which applies to your personal data processed in these countries is equivalent to that which applies within the EEA. Such measures may include only transferring your data to jurisdictions in respect of which there is a European Commission adequacy decision or, where this is not the case, by using model clauses which have been approved by the European Commission.

We may transfer your personal data between businesses that are part of the Capital Dynamics group of companies for the purposes of providing our services to you as follows:

On the basis that the European Commission has approved that an adequate level of data protection applies to the country to which we send your personal data; and

To request erasure of your personal data under certain circumstances (there may be circumstances where you have asked us to erase your personal data but we are required or entitled to retain it);
