Italcer – a leading player in Made in Italy ceramic design – has been named as one of the Italian top 100 at the Sustainability Award, a major accolade reserved for those Italian businesses which have most successfully demonstrated the capacity for Italian business to innovate, reinvent, and activate the country’s best efforts in pursuit of this most noble cause.
The ranking, produced by Team Credit Suisse, Kon Group and Forbes, places Italcer among the 100 Italian companies which are full-fledged members of the list of sustainable businesses, all with ESG ratings provided by ALTIS Università Cattolica and RepRisk.
The criteria used by ALTIS to assign the score and the cross-check of results through the RepRisk metrics were stringent, allowing the organisers of this first event to select the most impressive businesses, who have often been working towards sustainable production for several years. An innovative approach to governance and social matters were among the most influential aspects regarding the rating.
The prize recognises the efforts Italcer has made in centring the topic of sustainability in everyday life and in investing in human resources to bring out the potential of each individual with regard to their skills and abilities as well as their needs.
For Italcer, this important award is confirmation of the attention placed on sustainability performance, an area in which the company intends to invest over € 10 million per year for the next three years in order to meet the needs of an increasingly green clientele.
“The key levers for recovery after the COVID emergency”, says Italcer Group CEO Graziano Verdi, “were without a doubt innovation and sustainability. The brands within our Group use over 50% recycled raw materials and more than € 25 million have been invested in Industry 4.0 over the last three years. We will continue in this direction with ever greater resolve over the coming years”.
David Smith, Capital Dynamics' Senior Managing Director, commented: "We are delighted that our portfolio company, Italcer, has received such important and well-deserved recognition for its achievements in sustainability. At Capital Dynamics, we are proud to support middle market companies that embrace our responsible investment approach and are able to advance their sustainable credentials".
